Knoa Launches Academy of End-User Experience Management as
Ground-breaking Analyst Research Highlights Need to Advance Operational Best Practice

NEW YORK, July 15, 2009 - Knoa Software, the leading provider of end-user experience and performance management software, today announced the launch of the Knoa Academy of End-User Experience Management. The recent publication of a new benchmark report titled Monitoring the End-User Experience: Improving Business Performance through Application Management, by Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS) emphasizes the need to advance current practices in this discipline. The Aberdeen report found that the application management strategies of top-performing companies focus on the user, rather than simply using technical measurements, to achieve strategic benefits. The best-in class respondents in this research initiative were over twice as likely to improve brand reputation and 75 percent more likely to improve employee productivity.

"Throughout this study we found significant gaps between enterprises that committed to bettering the experience between end-users and the applications they interact with and those that choose not to," said Jeffrey Debarros, Senior Research Analyst, Network and Application Performance Management at Aberdeen. "This research revealed increased productivity and an overwhelming reduction in application faults and end-user complaints regarding enterprise applications. These organizations were able to better manage issues as they arose, get back online sooner and reported experiencing less frustration among the end-users and customers. By understanding that enterprise applications exist to empower end-users, these organizations have heard the clarion call of succeeding by placing their employees above and beyond the demands of any application or electronic investment."

Aberdeen's research detailed the need for true end-user experience and performance management solutions-software that reaches beyond infrastructure and application performance to monitor, measure and manage how end-users are utilizing applications to optimize business process execution-within enterprise IT departments. Knoa's Academy of End-User Experience Management will provide the industry's first forum for practitioners of end-user experience management to share knowledge and advance best practices on how to operationalize end-user metrics to achieve the outcomes that are clearly outlined in recent Aberdeen research. As shown in the research, best-in-class companies achieved the following:

  • Proactively identify faults 82 percent of the time, compared to only 36 percent for all other companies
  • 99.4 percent average application availability, compared to 83.7 percent for laggards
  • 30 percent decrease in end-user complaints due to application issues in the past 12 months, while laggards saw a 4 percent increase.

The Academy will engage Knoa customers, including eight of the Fortune 50, Knoa thought-leaders and its partners to advance the art and science of end-user experience management with the goal of improving application management, end-user performance and business process execution in support of achieving business goals. Core functions of the academy include:

  • Provide an online content repository of industry research
  • Actively seek and collect operational experience and business outcomes from end-user experience practitioners to cross pollinate best practice
  • Host a series of knowledge-sharing events
  • Enable a virtual community of academy participants
  • Coordinate and support industry research efforts

"Aberdeen's report is extensive and it details myriad benefits realized by enterprises that have adopted end-user experience and performance management software," said Lori Wizdo, vice president Marketing at Knoa Software. "The goal of the Knoa Academy is to provide the industry's premier forum to advance the art and science of end-user experience and performance management to optimize business process execution in support of achieving business goals."
